Value Your Time

Have you ever found yourself saying, “It’s only five minutes?” Do you struggle with valuing your time? Well, let's talk about it!

“It’s Only Five Minutes”

  • Five minutes late to work

  • Five minutes shopping online

  • Five minutes watching TikTok

  • Five minutes on a phone call unrelated to work

  • Long lunch? Leave early? Waste five more minutes? This is equivalent to 15 minutes that wasn't valued

What Harm Could 15 Minutes do in the Workplace?

  • One person wasting 15 minutes a day

  • There are 250 working days in the year

  • A loss of 3,750 minutes or… 62 ½ hours per year

  • Invictus currently has 42 employees working here

  • That adds up to a loss of 2,625 hours per year. That equals just over 65 weeks wasted per year. The equivalent of 15 months of wasted time.

Let’s Talk About Some Simple Steps to Value Your Time:

  • Plan your next day at the close of the day

  • Have a to-do list

  • Organize your workplace

  • Organize your computer files

  • Prioritize based on the importance not ease

  • Batch tasks into blocks of time

  • Minimize distractions

Values alignment helps the organization as a whole to achieve its core mission. When values are out of alignment, people work towards different goals, with different intentions and with different outcomes. This can be damaging to work relationships, productivity, job satisfaction and creative potential. Most people who respect and value time can learn faster and work faster. They become more focused and pay more attention to their work.
