At Invictus Healthcare System, we take pride in our leadership. So much so that our Interventional Procedures Manager, Chris Lazar, spoke on the subject at Employee Development Day. Chris shortened the word leadership to the acronym “LDRSHIP” because using abbreviations in everyday speech makes communication easier and faster. LDRSHIP stands for: loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage. Listed below are ways to conduct LDRSHIP in your professional and work life. Our Invictus employees/staff implement these strategies each and every day.
Loyalty
· Be loyal to your coworkers by being devoted to them and your work
Duty
· Fulfill your obligations
· Doing your duty means more than just carrying out your tasks, it includes accomplishing t tasks as part of a team
Respect
· Treat people how you would want to be treated, with dignity and respect
Selfless Service
· Put the needs of your co-workers before your own
· “Go the extra mile”
Honor
· Live up to your values
· It is a matter of carrying out and living your values in everything you do
Integrity
· Do what’s right, even when no one is looking
Personal Courage
· Face fear or adversity
· Face fear by continuing forward on the right path, even when those actions are not popular with others
