The brain and the spinal cord both have gray and white matter, just in different places?
The brain and the spinal cord contain the same essential material but organize them differently. In the brain, the gray matter is the outer portion of the brain. While in the spinal cord, the gray matter is the inner part of the cord. Gray matter is neurons that deal with either motor or sensory functions. White matter deals with communication between the brain and other structures. No wonder they are both so important to our bodies overall function!

If you get goosebumps from music you actually have a different brain structure than those who do not? People who experience goosebumps from music have more fibers connecting their auditory cortex and areas associated with emotional processing, meaning the two areas can communicate better. Our brains are amazing!

More people have been known to have migraines when there is lightning around than when there is none.
"A study of migraine sufferers in Ohio and Missouri found that the risk of a migraine went up on days when there was lightning nearby compared to days when there wasn't. The study authors speculated that electromagnetic waves from the lightning could be triggering the headaches or that lightning might increase the production of ozone or fungus spores, either of which might spur a migraine."

As babies, we have 33 vertebrae but as adults, we end up with 26. What happens to the other 9 bones? Four of them will fuse to make our tailbone and five will fuse to make the back of our pelvis.
